Comprehensive Dentistry

Comprehensive dentistry involves the diagnosis and treatment of general conditions affecting the teeth, gums and jaw. Quality preventive care is a fundamental part of comprehensive dentistry, because it allows our doctors to detect problems early and create more conservative treatment plans. Keeping up with your oral health is not only vital to your overall health – it can also significantly reduce the amount of money that you will need to spend on dental treatment later in life! If you have avoided seeing a dentist for a long time because of dental anxiety, please share your concerns with us. We want to make it easy for you to receive the treatment you desire at a pace that makes you feel comfortable.

Laser Dentistry

Waterlase™ MD technology enables us to provide advanced dental treatments with more comfort and convenience than ever before. Waterlase combines laser energy with a cool spray of water and air to gently prepare teeth for fillings, often without the need for shots or anesthesia. Best of all, Waterlase is precise, so our doctors can easily remove areas of decay while leaving healthy tooth structure intact. Waterlase can even be used in soft tissue and gum treatments.

Laser dentistry is not only more comfortable than traditional dentistry — it’s also more convenient. The versatility of the Waterlase laser allows us to perform many complex procedures right here in our office, so the days of driving all over town to get the treatment you need are history!

Restorative Dentistry

Things we take for granted with natural teeth – such as talking, smiling and eating the foods we love – can all become easier again with restorative dentistry. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Bush offer a variety of restorative dental treatments that can give your smile a second chance, from natural looking dental fillings to porcelain veneers. They are also certified to restore dental implants, which are an effective way to permanently replace missing teeth or improve the fit, function and stability of dentures.

Restorative Dental Treatments

  • Tooth-Colored Fillings
  • Porcelain Crowns & Fixed Bridges
  • Dazzling Porcelain Veneers
  • Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)
  • Dental Implant Restorations

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants are effective in stabilizing dentures to fit, feel and function more like natural teeth, which can resolve many of the practical and social problems associated with removable dentures. Dental implants can also be used as single-tooth replacements or in conjunction with other restorations, such as crowns and fixed bridges. Call our office today to discover how dental implants can help you get your smile back and better than ever!

We offer the KoR Deep Bleaching™ system, which consists of two in-office treatments with a week of at-home whitening in between. KoR Deep Bleaching’s powerful hydrogen peroxide solution brightens teeth up to 16 shades, and if you follow the simple maintenance program, your brilliant new smile can last a lifetime. Best of all, KoR Deep Bleaching includes a de-sensitizing gel that has been proven to significantly lessen tooth sensitivity, a common side effect of whitening. We also offer another in-office whitening system and custom take-home kits for less stubborn cases. Ask us about your options!

Periodontal Health (Gum Health)

Gum disease used to require oral surgery more often than not. While surgery is still sometimes the best option, we can now treat many cases with less invasive techniques first. According to MedlinePlus, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, about 80 percent of U.S. adults currently have some form of gum disease, ranging from gingivitis to serious periodontal disease. The prevalence of gum disease increases with age as teeth wear down, gums naturally recede and medications affect oral changes. If your gums feel tender or look red and swollen, you may be at risk for gum disease. Other signs are bleeding and/or receding gums, sensitive teeth and persistent bad breath. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss and more serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer is one of the most curable types of cancer if it’s caught early enough. We use the VELscope® oral cancer screening device to detect lesions before they produce any pain or symptoms. Digital x-rays also aid in the detection of oral cancer by enabling our doctors to see possible tumors and other problems associated with the jaw.
